    In the Heat of the Night

    Based on the award-winning book that inspired the Oscar-winning film and the Emmy-winning television series. It’s 1962. A hot August night lies heavy over the small town of Argo, Alabama. A dead white man is discovered and the local police arrest a black stranger named Virgil Tibbs. The police discover that their prime suspect is in fact a homicide detective from California. As it happens, Tibbs becomes the racially-tense...

As it happens, Tibbs becomes the racially-tense community’s single hope in solving a brutal murder that is turning up no witnesses, no motives and no clues.

    Theatre Charlotte is located at 501 Queens Road, just two blocks over from Presbyterian Hospital. There's plenty of FREE parking.

    From I-77N - Take Morehead St. exit. Turn left onto Morehead. Proceed through uptown crossing Tryon St., cross Kings Dr. After crossing Kings Dr., turn left at the next light, onto Queens Rd. Theatre Charlotte is approximately four blocks down on the right.

    From I-77S - Take I-277 exit. Go to 3rd/4th Street exit (NC Hwy. 16S). Exit onto 3rd St. Continue on 3rd St. which becomes Providence Rd. At the intersection of Providence and Queens Rd., turn right onto Queens Rd. Theatre Charlotte is approximately two blocks on the left.

    From I-85S - Take Brookshire Freeway exit (NC Hwy. 16S). Follow the NC-16 signs south crossing Independence Blvd. (NC Hwy.16S becomes Providence Rd.). At the intersection of Providence and Queens Rd. turn right onto Queens. Theatre Charlotte is approximately 4 blocks on the left.

    From I-85N - Take I-77S at interchange. Take Morehead St. exit. Turn left onto Morehead. Proceed through uptown crossing Tryon St., cross Kings Dr. After crossing Kings Dr., turn left at the next light, onto Queens Rd. Theatre Charlotte is approximately 4 blocks on the right.

    From Hwy. 74 East/Independence area - Take Independence to John Belk Freeway (I-277). Exit onto 3rd/4th St. Take 3rd St., (becomes Provoidence Rd.). At the intersection of Providence and Queens Rd. turn right onto Queens. Theatre Charlotte is approximately four blocks on the left.
