Martha Strawn Lecture Series: Henry Horenstein
March 31, 2017
In 2004, Henry Horenstein visited The Light Factory to exhibit work from his now classic book Honky Tonk: Portraits of Country Music. Now, 13 years later, Horenstein returns as this year’s speaker for The Martha Strawn Photographic Lecture Series. Horenstein will briefly survey his life’s work while discussing the enormous changes in the photographic world during those decades. He will also show and discuss several of his films, including Spoke, Murray, and Partners. The lecture will be followed by a book signing of two books he published in 2016: Histories: Tales from the 70’s (a collection of his earliest work) and Shoot What You Love: Tips and Tales from a Working Photographer (a visual memoir).
