    Divine Signs

The Divine Signs collection represents seven years of work, and is an artistic and insightful representation of the strong influence Christianity and the Church have on Southern life and culture.

    About the Artists
Sarah Smolen and Paul Smolen are daughter-father photographers interested in documenting the people, culture, landscapes, festivals, and art of the South. They have been collaborating since Sarah was fifteen years old.

Sarah graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a dual degree in Journalism and Art History.  Her photographs have been featured in magazines, museums, and art galleries around North Carolina. Sarah is a web designer in Apex, NC.

A graduate of Duke University, Paul Smolen practices pediatrics with Providence Pediatrics and Carolinas Medical Center. Photography has been his hobby and passion since he was fifteen years old.
