Taste the Diaspora

Through Thursday, December 14
Sugaw Creek/MLK Recreation Center
Presented by Jouana Anderson

*For adults and seniors

Taste the diaspora is a collaborative learning space, facilitated by Jasiatic Anderson to explore the connections of food, culture, art, community, and healing. It is an offering to discover our connections to foodways and their often overlooked diasporic roots. Classes will be curated to explore a specific food, foodway or historical food preparation. Each class will include a cooking lesson, tasting, recipes, discussion around our own ways of eating and experiencing such food, customs and rituals, while also discovering its roots and variations in other cultures throughout the world. All foods supplied and sampled will be plant based.

Learning in community, Taste the diaspora centers the possibilities when we explore together.
