Tango CLT

Tango CLT's mission is to make accessible to all the beautiful art of Argentine tango, including the dance, the music, and tango's history and culture. We offer classes, social dances, and concerts, and we host outstanding guest dancers and musicians who bring their knowledge and artistry to the fast-growing city of Charlotte.

We host weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly dance events, and offer group classes and private instruction.  We are available for special events including performances, presentations, choreography, or anything you think might benefit from having tango!

Matthew Seneca, the founder, has been dancing tango for 14 years and has trained with some of the best dancers in the world.  He regularly travels to Buenos Aires to deepen his practice. 

Sarah Hayes Harkins is a Company A dancer in Charlotte Ballet and has danced professionally since 2008.  Her career has led her to work with choreographers of many styles and genres of dance, and she has been blessed to receive many lead roles over the years.  She joined Tango CLT in 2021 and is excited to bring her knowledge of ballet to learning Argentine tango.

We currently host the following ongoing events: Weekly on Tuesdays - Tango Tuesday at The Giddy Goat Coffee Roasters in Plaza Midwood 7 - 11 PM $10 2nd & 4th Wednesdays - Tango & Tapas at Poplar in Uptown 6 - 9 PM $10 Weekly on Thursday evenings - Beginner & Intermediate Classes at International House in Plaza Midwood Monthly on Sunday mornings - Tango Brunch at Southern Strain Brewing Company in Plaza Midwood 11 - 1 PM - Free!
