Historical Cooking Guild of the Catawba Valley
The Cooking Guild, founded in 1997 in Charlotte, is the premier hearth cooking organization of North Carolina, It specializes in authentic and historically accurate methods of 18th century hearth cooking and other historical foodways. The Guild meets twice a month at the President James K. Polk Memorial Homesite in Pineville, NC, as well as traveling to a variety of locations to provide demonstrations and historical lectures. While the Guild is not currently accepting new members, it welcomes the public to observe, ask questions and share insights on historical foodways.
