Craft & Trade Academy

Craft & Trade Academy, a public 501(c)3 non-profit higher education institution, is committed to building career pathways for young adults by encouraging new engagement in the construction industry and developing expert craftsmen through certified apprenticeships. The academy is passionate not only about training the next generation of tradesmen but also about highlighting the arts across non-traditional sectors, educating the public about arts, and teaching craft skills. 

We believe that creativity and artistic skills are as important as technical knowledge. Our core programs are:

1. Pre-Apprenticeship Construction Experience, encourages new interest in the construction industry by providing training in construction-based skills and hands-on experience in the field.

2. Apprenticeships: Tile Installer (two-year) and Tile Finisher (fourteen-month), both leading to Journeyman designation.

3. Craft Workshops: Local and international artists engage area high school students in the trades by exploring the connection between creativity, artisanry, and technical skills.
